Handmade baking roller made of kithul wood. It is ideal for rolling out fondant, pizza, cakes, pasta dough and shortcrust pastry. It is made on the south coast of Sri Lanka.  Products of this type of wood are made exclusively from Kithul palms, which are no longer used agriculturally. The palm is used in many ways; palm wine, so-called toddy, is obtained from the inflorescence. Sweet powder is made from the dried fruit flesh. The leaves and flesh are also a delicacy for domestic elephants. So the palm is used until the end of its life.
