FAIR ZONE Kithul baking roller

Handmade baking roller made of kithul wood. It is ideal for rolling out fondant, pizza, cake, pasta dough and shortbread. It is manufactured on the south coast of Sri Lanka.  Products of this type of wood are made exclusively from Kithul palm trees, which are no longer used agriculturally. The palm tree is used in many ways, from the inflorescence palm wine, so-called toddy is obtained. Sweet powder is made from the dried pulp. Also for domestic elephants the leaves and the pulp are a delicacy. The palm tree is thus used until the end of its life.
