Himalana – fair trade rugs from the Roof of the World
In the Himalayas, it can get hot in summer and very cold at night – the wool from Himalayan sheep ensures that the animals are neither too hot nor too cold on cold days. The virgin sheep’s wool used in our Himalana rugs has some very special properties: it is naturally temperature-regulating, soft, yet hard-wearing and easy to care for – an ideal material for making modern rugs. Even after shearing, the wool retains these temperature-regulating properties, making virgin sheep’s wool a robust and versatile material for our Himalana rugs.
