FAIR ZONE Self Watering Pots

The Self Watering Spikes act as a water dispenser. When the potting soil is dry, water passes through the clay spike into the soil until it is sufficiently watered. Clay has the property of storing water and gradually releasing it. This keeps the soil evenly moist for several days. The spikes are well suited for watering while you are on holiday. They fit many differently sized long-necked bottles and support an even water supply for the plants.

The water dispenser is made from Sri Lanka's red clay. Pottery is a long-standing tradition there and plays a major role in everyday life – for example in cooking pots or house construction.

Directions

1. Soak the water spike in water for 1–2 hours.
2. Carefully insert the water spike into the soil.
3. Place a glass bottle filled with water onto the spike – watering is now set up.
4. Let the spikes dry out over winter. The product is not frost-resistant.
