Rice & Carry Kitchen Apron

Our Fairtrade cooking aprons are handwoven and made in Sri Lanka by Rice & Carry. Each apron is unique. The neckband has a slider made of recycled plastic and is therefore adjustable in size. Width 70 cm, height 80 cm. Length of the band: approx. 70 cm each. The Rice & Carry cooking aprons can be used as kitchen aprons, baking aprons or household aprons. The apron not only offers optimal protection against grease splashes and stains but is also resistant and durable. Note: 100 % cotton (handwoven). The buckle is made of 100 % upcycled plastic collected by WLAB in Sri Lanka. Washing: 60 °C. Please wash with similar colours.

The story behind it: Rice & Carry is a Fairtrade project to support women on the east coast of Sri Lanka and is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
Discarded rice and jute sacks are processed into various upcycling products. The bags of rice and spices usually come from markets or restaurants and are collected for a second purpose. In the factory they are then washed, dried and then sewn into a wide range of products by employees. More information about WFTO at www.wfto.com.
