RICE & CARRY Sports Bag

This modern and fairly produced sports and leisure bag can hold a lot. The handles are very robust and made of black or white cotton. On the zip is a piece of nylon rope picked up from the beach in Sri Lanka.

The rice bags are made of 100% polypropylene. (hand wash)

The story behind it: Rice & Carry is a fair trade project to support women on the east coast of Sri Lanka and is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). Discarded rice and jute sacks are processed into various upcycling products. The bags of rice and spices usually come from markets or restaurants and are collected for a second purpose. In the factory they are then washed, dried and sewn into a wide range of products by employees. More information about WFTO at www.wfto.com
