The story behind it: Rice & Carry is a Fair Trade project supporting women on the east coast of Sri Lanka and is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
Discarded rice and jute sacks are processed into a variety of upcycled products. The rice and spice sacks mostly come from markets or restaurants and are collected to be given a second purpose. At the manufactory, staff then wash and dry them before sewing them into a wide range of products. More information on WFTO at www.wfto.com
