RICE & CARRY Jute shoulder bag

The shoulder bag is suitable for an extensive shopping trip. The inner lining was sewn from a cotton fabric, and there are two pockets on the outside. The bag is completed with a cloth sewn from old saris. Since each bag is unique, there is no option to choose a colour or motif.

The story behind it: Rice & Carry is a fair trade project to support women on the east coast of Sri Lanka and is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
Discarded rice and jute sacks are processed into various upcycling products. The bags of rice and spices usually come from markets or restaurants and are collected for a second purpose. In the factory they are then washed, dried and sewn into a wide range of products by employees. More information about WFTO at www.wfto.com

Directions

Please do not wash in the washing machine, otherwise the jute prints will fade.
